Bath and Body Works is about to throw it all the way back to the 90`s. The popular body care store is re-releasing scents and products that were customer favorites in the 90`s. This is all for their #FlashBackFragrance campaign which will leave you feeling nostalgic.

The eight scents that will be re-released include Peony, Country Apple, Cucumber Melon, Freesia, Brown Sugar & Fig, Mango Mandarin, Cotton Blossom, Sun-Ripened Raspberry. Talk about a throwback with all of these amazing scents! There are also four different ways in which you can buy these scents. The first one is the fragrance mist which will be $14. The second will be the ultra shea body cream for $13. The shea & Vitamin E body lotion will be $12.50. And lastly the shea & Vitamin E shower gel for $12.50. With so many options, what will you choose? I definitely plan to stock up on the Sun-Ripened Raspberry.

Are you ready for Mother`s Day this Sunday? If not, then we have a list of fun activities to do! Aside from the usually brunch or dinner, we have come up with a list of different ways to celebrate this weekend! This list ranges from free things to wine tasting. There are so many ways to celebrate.

Several fun places around Long Island are offering free services for mothers. Some of these establishments include:

Another idea to do this weekend is a spa day. A soothing spa day is a great way to say “thank you” for all of that hard work she does. A spa day can be going to a local salon or spa or even enjoying a homemade spa day. She will be sure to enjoy a day full of relaxation.

Vacations don’t always have to be extravagant and far from home. There are so many weekend getaways right here on Long Island. If you choose to plan a weekend getaway for your mom, it’s a good idea to provide a variety of hotel choices, this way she won’t feel obligated to follow your exact plans. Some destination ideas include Montauk, New York City or the many nature trails that Long Island has to offer.

The weather is warming up, and wine tasting is an awesome springtime activity. Long Island Vineyards are calling your name this Mother’s Day! Be sure to keep an eye out for our favorite Long Island wines, while you’re out East. Pindar Vineyards of Peconic will be hosting a Mother’s Day event from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. this year. Live music by Larry Liso and complementary souvenir Pindar logo wine glasses will be provided.

Add an extra twist to your Cinco De Mayo fiesta!

It`s Cinco De Mayo and what could be better than fresh, homemade guacamole to add to your fiesta? I am going to give you a homemade recipe that is so easy and delicious, that you will have to try it!

The ingredients necessary for this recipe are, 3 avocados, sour cream, red onion, salt, pepper and garlic. This recipe can really vary on your taste but I’ll tell you how much I use when I make it. I start with mashing the 3 avocados in a bowl. I then add a pinch of salt and pepper. Next comes a ½ cup of sour cream. Then I add a chopped red onion. Finally its finished off with a pinch of garlic. A trick to keeping the guacamole fresh is keeping the pit of the avocado in the middle of the dish. This way it’ll stay nice and fresh for your Cinco De Mayo celebration. All you need is to add friends, tacos and sangria and your fiesta is complete!

 

Six Flags Great Adventure`s newest rollercoaster is no joke!

Do you love rollercoasters and are looking for the latest thrill? Well, one local amusement park has you covered. Six Flags Great Adventure located in New Jersey is debuting a new ride that is seriously no joke.  The name of this newest attraction is “The Joker”. “The Joker is undeniably one of the greatest DC Comics Super-Villains ever created. Only someone with his warped sense of humor could provide this level of insanity ─ or spinsanity ─ with a new, vertical coaster that delivers gravity-defying somersaults with utter unpredictability. It is the perfect addition to our dynamic line-up of award-winning roller coasters because this ride delivers total mayhem with its next-generation, cutting-edge thrills,” Six Flags Great Adventure President John Fitzgerald said in January. This intense rollercoaster is described as a 4-D, free-fly coaster that will allow riders to flip head-over-heels at least six times during the ride that features two “beyond 90-degree” drops. The 120-foot-tall ride is expected to open in the spring of 2016. Will you be daring enough to go on this ride?

“Fuller House” is about to become even more full!

“Fuller House” is about to become more full with the renewal of season two. This Netflix revival series is a spin-off of the original “Full House”.  It took 20 years to make this revival series possible but once it launched, it took only less than a week for the renewal of season two to be determined.

The current season of “Fuller House” is centered around the Tanner siblings. In this season since Mary- Kate and Ashley Olsen who portrayed the character of Michelle have not signed on, their neighbor Kimmy Gibbler has replaced her. But that is not to say that Michelle will not return for season two. The Tanner siblings are all grown up and facing many different situations including DJ becoming a widow and raising three sons, Kimmy`s crazy roller coaster life including romance and divorce. And also including Stephanie and her pursuit to start a career as a DJ and singer while being one of the most entertaining aunts.

The way that season one leaves off is with open- ended episodes and several cliffhangers, which is the perfect way to introduce season two.  It is time for `90s fans to rejoice as your favorite family is back for another season full of puns, comical moments and the craziness of the Tanner household.

The flowers have sprung at the Disney Flower and Garden Festival!

Spring has sprung and so have the flowers at Disney World`s Flower and Garden Festival.  This festival of flowers, food and fun will run from March 2nd, 2016 to May 30,2016 and is definitely something to add to your Disney bucket list.

Characters and iconic Disney scenes come to life as Epcot transforms to a garden wonderland.  These 90 days at Epcot will be filled with classic traditions of the festival along with new ones. Some exciting things you’ll find is the Garden Rocks Concert Series. This series includes Darlene Love and The Georgia Satellites, as well as returning favorites. There will also be a new kids play ground called The Harmony Gardens Musical Playground. You’ll also find new outdoor kitchens and also new menu items. The two newest kitchens include La Isla Fresca serving up Jamaican food along with the Cider House. These two new kitchens will join the 11 other booths serving up all kinds of delicious foods from the World Showcase. And you’ll also see flowers galore. From themed flower gardens to topiaries to life size figurines of Disney characters!

If you think this flower crazy event is unbelievable, here are three fun facts that will blow your mind. The first fun fact is more than 500,000 plants, trees and shrubs are planted for the festival; 250,000 of those are annual blossoms installed for the festival. The second fun fact is Festival plants include 60 different species of trees, 47 types of palms, and 48 varieties of bedding plants. And the last fun fact is it takes more than one full year and about 24,000 cast member hours to prepare for the annual festival.

What can be better than spring, flowers in the shapes of Disney characters, scrumptious food and great music? This year’s Flower and Garden Festival has that all covered for you and more. If you are heading down to Disney this Spring, this is definitely something worth seeing.

It’s that time of year where coffee becomes a little more than necessary in the morning. That is because it is time to spring forward.  Sunday, March 13th marks the first day of Daylight Savings. For some people this could be seen as just a loss of sleep but for others it is a sign that sunny and longer days are finally here.

The saying “Spring forward, fall back” is an old expression used to remind people to adjust your clocks. Although making sure you get up in time in the morning is important, there are also several necessary tasks to ensure a safe and happy spring and summer season. This could be looked at as a safety spring cleaning. Here are some necessary things to check off of your safety spring cleaning list. The first thing you should do is check to make sure there is a functioning fire detector and carbon dioxide detector in each room of your house. If you know there are any detectors that are over ten years old, then it’s time for new ones. After inserting fresh batteries check your alarm by activating the safety test button. Now that the alarms are all checked, it is time to clean your alarms. This can be done by gently using a vacuum cleaner to remove any dust and cobwebs. Because what use is a working alarm if you can’t hear it. Lastly, you should make an escape plan and review it with your entire family. It is a good idea to get everyone involved including the kids. After you have made your plan, make sure you have all functioning emergency supplies put together in several locations of your home. A good idea would be to create a backpack filled with flashlights, batteries and other items you feel are necessary. Once you have an action plan set, it’s time to test it out. Make sure everything is set and everyone is aware of the plan in case of an unfortunate tragedy.
