Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party

Calling all ghosts and goblins. Disney’s Magic kingdom is celebrating Halloween in a not so scary way. Every year Disney celebrates Halloween from September through October with an event you won’t want to miss. Mickey and his pals always know how to party and Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween party is filled with trick or treating, parades, shows and an unbelievable firework display.

The Boo To You parade starts and Mickey and his friends are all dressed up in their Halloween outfits. The Sanderson Sisters also drop by Cinderella’s castle for the Hocus Pocus spectacular. After the show is Happy Hallowishes, this firework extravaganza is sure to impress everyone as it is accompanied by Halloween themed music. From the different costumes to the trick or treating to fireworks, it is one Halloween filled night.

This event happens to be one of my favorites and I was able to attend the party last week. My favorite part is definitely all the trick or treating. Who doesn’t love running around Magic kingdom for candy. Get your costumes and trick or treat bags ready because this is one Halloween celebration that is definite worth seeing!

Purchasing Wedding Insurance

Purchasing Wedding Insurance

Are you getting ready to tie the knot?

Let’s face it, as much as you want everything on your wedding day to go as smoothly as possible, life happens. You don’t want to think about it, but natural disasters, emergencies, and accidents can occur on the day of your dreams.

This is why C.H. Edwards, Inc. suggests purchasing Wedding Insurance. Sure, it’s an added cost, but what it covers, makes it completely worth it!

For example, you plan a beautiful fall wedding in September and all of a sudden a hurricane is headed your way and your wedding must be postponed. This is an extreme scenario, but if you don’t have wedding insurance, all of that time and money you put into your big day may go to waste.

If you choose to spend a little extra and purchase wedding insurance, the above-mentioned situation would have been covered, and you’ll be able to reschedule your dream day.

Another example why you should purchase wedding insurance is if something happens to the venue where you will be having your event. Whether it went bankrupt or there was a fire, wedding insurance will cover the costs of rebooking at another venue or hall.
It can also cover scenarios such as if you have to retake ruined photos, replace lost or damaged wedding apparel and gifts.

Weddings are expensive, and yes, purchasing wedding insurance will cost extra money, but if something actually happens on that date you picked, you’re covered!

For more information regarding wedding insurance or life insurance, call for a free no obligation quotation. Call C.H. Edwards, Inc. a call at 516-249-5200 and one of our specialists will be happy to assist you. Congratulations on taking this big step into your future.

Candle Safety

Candle Safety

The fall season is here and people everywhere are burning their favorite seasonal candles.

Before lighting your candles be sure to follow these 8 tips when using candles in your home.

1. Burning candles should never be left unattended.
2. Keep candles away from anything flammable.
3. If your candle is in a candle holder, it should be sturdy enough to avoid being easily knocked over.
4. Candles should be placed where children and pets can’t reach them.
5. Candlewicks should be trimmed to ¼ inch each time before burning. Long wicks can cause uneven burning and dripping.
6. Keep the pool of wax in the candle clear of debris such as wick trimmings.
7. Read and follow the manufacturer’s instructions for candle use. Most candles should be burned for only a couple of hours at a time.
8. Extinguish candles with a candle snuffer rather than blowing them out to avoid being burned by the hot wax.

Enjoy your fall season and your favorite candle safely this year!

Dunkin’ Donuts & Starbucks Seasonal Treats

Dunkin’ Donuts & Starbucks Seasonal Treats

Fall is here and the weather is getting chilly.

Along with sweatshirts, falling leaves, and haunted houses, comes Dunkin Donuts’ release of their seasonal Pumpkin flavored coffees and bakery items! There is nothing better than waking up on a crisp fall morning and heading to Dunkin for breakfast before work.

My go to breakfast at Dunkin is always a medium pumpkin iced coffee with extra pumpkin and half & half, paired with a warmed pumpkin muffin or donut. For an afternoon “pick me up”, an iced pumpkin latte or macchiato hits the spot and keeps me running!

As the fall days get colder, Dunkin’s hot pumpkin coffees and lattes made with steamed cream help warm and comfort you. Along with their enticing pumpkin flavors, you can look forward to their hot and iced apple cider in late September. Pair a cup of their apple cider with an apple cinnamon donut and you have the perfect afternoon treat!

For all the Starbucks lovers out there, try one of Starbuck’s new delightfully balanced Salted Caramel Mocha, or their delicious Pumpkin Spice Latte. Each can be served hot, iced or blended to suit whatever type of autumn day you’re having.

I enjoy the rich aroma and smooth taste Starbucks hot drinks offer.

Pair your favorite beverage with some new pastries such as the Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffin, the glazed Pumpkin Scone, or the juicy bite of Washington Apple Pound Cake. One thing I have always loved about Starbucks pastries and café items is that they are always soft and fresh!

So get in your car and head to Dunkin or Starbucks now before the fall season runs out! With a wide variety of drinks and pastries, pumpkin and non-pumpkin lovers are sure to find something they love!

8 Things To Know About Umbrella Policies

8 Things To Know About Umbrella Policies

Many consumers are often confused or unsure whether or not to buy an umbrella insurance policy. You may be asking yourself, what is an umbrella policy and how will it cover me?

Well, look no further here are eight things that you should know about personal and commercial umbrella policies are:

1. A personal umbrella provides an additional layer of liability coverage above and beyond the liability limits in an auto and homeowner’s policy.

2. The personal umbrella policy is extremely undersold. The vast majority of people with personal exposures do not have an umbrella policy, when they really should.

3. Personal Umbrella policies are on of the most inexpensive coverage’s available.

4. An insured does not need to be a millionaire to have a $1million personal umbrella policy. You don’t need to own a home, be married or even have children. An umbrella policy is simply extra coverage to protect you.

5. Personal umbrella policies are not something most people buy; it is something they have to be told about. Most clients will not ask for an umbrella policy. The agent has to proactively educate the client and let them know what it is.

6. Personal Umbrella polices can be sold as a monoline policy, that means by itself. While Umbrellas are often tied to auto and home policies, there are companies that offer standalone umbrellas at a very reasonable price.

7. A commercial umbrella policy provides additional liability limits above and beyond the primary limits in commercial general liability and commercial auto policies.

8. One key issue with a commercial umbrella policy is whether it provides defense costs inside or outside the policy limits. In cases of large and sever claims, it is important to have defense outside the policy limits so that the policy limits are preserved to pay for the claim.

If you have any questions or would like to obtain a free quotation on a personal or commercial umbrella policy, give C.H. Edwards a call today at 516 -249-5200 or visit our website at www.chedwards.net and one of our umbrella specialist will be happy to assist you .

Mc Donald’s Makes Plans To Serve Breakfast All Day

Mc Donald’s Makes Plans To Serve Breakfast All Day

McDonalds Rise and shine because it`s about to be morning all day long. McDonald`s has been testing their breakfast menu being served all day for several months now and it looks like it`s here to stay. According to Time.com the nationwide rollout could begin as early as October of this year.

The exciting news was announced after one franchise based in Tuscon released a menu to all the McDonald`s employees to prepare them for the switch. These test menus began in San Diego, Mississippi and Nashville, TN. And now it`s expanding nation wide. This menu change is one of McDonald`s chances to raise their mc donalds breakfastdecreasing sales. Their sales have been slowing down over the past few years and serving McMuffins all hours of the day may be their last hope to defeat their low sales. Only time will tell, but with the amount of excitement this news has generated, we have to think McDonald`s might be onto something.

It’s Official, Miley Cyrus Is Hosting The 2015 MTV Video Music Awards!

It’s Official, Miley Cyrus Is Hosting The 2015 MTV Video Music Awards!

Miley EditThe rumors are true and it’s official Miley Cyrus is hosting the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards, set to air live August 30 at 9 p.m.

In typical Miley fashion, she announced her big news by dressing up as an alien and wearing a sandwich board that reads “MTV WON’T LET ME PERFORM” on one side and “SO I’M HOSTING THIS YEAR’S VMA’S” on the other.

At just just 15, Miley attended he first VMAs in 2008. She was nominated for Best New Artist and was up against Katy Perry and Taylor Swift. She’s had quite the history with this award show since then. Last year, she made headlines when she graciously offered up her acceptance speech time to her homeless date, Jesse Helt, who explained the plight of homeless youth in L.A. That moment sparked the creation of Miley’s Happy Hippie organization, which gives support services to those in need.

And, as you might remember, Miley’s 2013 VMAs were marked by the twerk seen ’round the world, when she danced with Robin Thicke and a giant foam finger. Never forget.

We can only imagine the amazing antics she’ll pull this year.

6 Tips To Maintaining a Healthy, Beautiful Looking Lawn This Summer Season

6 Tips To Maintaining a Healthy, Beautiful Looking Lawn This Summer Season

grass

The warm sunny weather is here and it’s time of the year for healthy, green growing grass. A yard doesn’t just have healthy green grass all by itself year after year. In most cases, it takes constant gardening maintenance to care for grass and maintain its gorgeous green coloring.

During this time of year, your grass needs special care. Follow these 6 tips when maintaining your lawn this summer season:

1. Cut your grass at the proper height to maintain its health. If your grass is cut too short, it will burn in the sun or die. Grass that is kept too high will start to thin out due to too much shade. Tall grass also stays damp, which can lead to mold and mildew. Trim your grass about once a week during the growing season to keep it the correct height.

2. Dethatch your yard every two or three years to remove dead grass buildup. When grass dies and new blades take its place, dead vegetation builds up on top of the soil. This can block light and air from advancing new growth.

3. Towards the end of the summer season, aerate your yard to loosen the soil and incorporate more air flow near the surface.

4. After you aerate your grass, overseed your grass. Since you already have a lawn, simply cast the seeds by hand over the grass, throwing out more seed over thin areas.

5. Water your grass on a regular basis, and after casting seed, to maintain healthy growth.

Watering lawn6. Set up a sprinkler for your yard, and water the grass once a day for 15 minutes. Be sure to avoid overwatering your grass. Continue this until you see blades of new grass growing.

Maintain that healthy, beautiful look you love all summer long by following these simple maintenance tips. Make your lawn, your home’s first impression.

Drink Tea For Better Heart Health

Drink Tea For Better Heart Health

Woman drinking green tea

A recent study found that drinking tea will lower your risk of heart disease. The USDA reported that men and women who drank black tea for three weeks reduced their total and bad cholesterol (LDL) levels by an average of 7.5 percent. Researchers concluded that drinking tea may reduce the risk of coronary heart disease. Antioxidants called flavonoids found in both black and green tea, are thought to be strong weapons in the fight against heart disease.

This news is especially important for women, given heart disease kills more women than all forms of cancer combined including breast cancer.

Think about enjoying a cup of tea each day and not only will you be taking a well deserved break, but you will also be taking an important step in improving your heart health.
