iPhone 7 Plus Release

Apple lovers are jumping for joy now that Apple has officially released the new iPhone 7 Plus. One of the first exciting features of the new device is the dual lens system. The phone is also now available in the new color option of blue! Along with these changes there has been a change in the way you’ll be using your headphones. “The new device will indeed not have a headphone jack and may be even equipped for wireless charging – the “docking” magnets on the back look similar to the ones on the Watch.”

Many consumers have mixed feelings about the “missing” headphone jack. Some love it, and some are not very fond of the idea just yet.

Apple’s New and Redesigned Emojis

Apple’s New and Redesigned Emojis

If you love using emoji as a form of communication, then the news that Apple just released will make you happy. This Fall, Apple will be joining Google in adding different types of emoji that reflect gender equality. They announced over 100 new and redesigned emoji that will launch with iOS 10. The main focus of this new launch is to release a variety of emoji that better represent men and women in the workforce. This a project that both Google and Apple have joined together with the Unicode Consortium, which is the organization in charge of adding emoji. Since this project is supported by Unicode, it means the emoji will show up properly on all different devices.

This update will include alterations to existing ones as well as never before seen emoji. Users can now pick between female and male athletes and professionals. There will also be an addition of a new rainbow flag. One lastly addition will be more family options, like single parent families. “Google says 90% of the world’s online population use emoji, and giving people more options to express themselves is a good thing.” And now this Fall, you will be able to express yourself even more throughout the use of emoji. What emoji are you most excited for?

Are you Insuring a new teen driver? Have you discussed Cell Phone Safety with them?

Are you Insuring a new teen driver? Have you discussed Cell Phone Safety with them?

textingHas your teen recently passed their road test? You know what that means; “Mom can I have the keys?”. As a parent this is a good time to enforce rules regarding Cell Phone Safety, also referred to as Texting and Driving.

11% of all drivers under the age of 20 years old are involved in some sort of fatal car crash due to being distracted at the wheel. Before handing over the keys it is important do go over some specific pointers with your new driver :

Out of Sight Out of Mind – Explain to your teen that before getting behind the wheel put their phone on silent and either put it in the back seat or tucked away in a bag. This will decrease the chance of them wanting to respond to a message.

Designated Texter – It may sound funny but have your teen set a designated texter who can read the messages and respond to them. You won’t miss a beat with your Best Friend helping you respond to important text messages.

Setting a Good Example – If your teen sees you texting and driving, what do you think they will do? Text and drive! Set a good example while your driving with them in the car. Do not take out your phone and show them that it can wait!

Texting at a Stop Light – Make your teen aware that texting at a stop light is also unsafe and illegal! Texting at a stop light causes you to loose focus on what is going on around you.

Before letting your teen go out for their first drive alone, enforce these rules and go over these important safety tips to ensure their safety.

Restaurant Blog Good!!

Do you own a restaurant or has it always been your dream to open a restaurant? Insuring your dream may not be high on your list of priorities, but should be. Protecting your livelihood is the job of an experienced insurance agent. Restaurant owners have very unique needs.

Here are some things to consider:

Although any location can be a restaurant, your insurance premium can be significantly impacted by factors that are near or adjacent to the location. For example, Waterfront locations are beautiful but are more difficult to insure due to the risk of flood and wind. Proximity to dangerous exposures, such as manufacturing or hazardous materials handling are just some of the examples of situation to avoid when choosing the ideal location.

Be aware of the obvious liquor liability, constantly changing property limits, food spoilage coverage, equipment and boiler equipment breakdown, employers liability (including workers compensation and disability) are just some of the additional areas owners should educate themselves about.

An independent insurance agent can help access, diagnose and offer invaluable advice on how to cover these exposures. You wouldn’t let an insurance agent cook in your dinner, so why are you acting without the counsel of an insurance professional.
